The QIP (Quality Improvement programme) for the faculty of the Department of Life Sciences was conducted during May 21-23.  The talks were from the domains of Zoology, Botany and Biotechnology. The external resource persons included Dr Uma Shankar (Professor, University of Agricultural Sciences, GKVK, Bangalore), Dr Purushothama M G (Research Director. I&B seeds private ltd.Bangalore), Dr.SejianVeerasamy (Senior Scientist, NIANP-ICAR. Bangalore), Dr. Seetha K, Scientist-Syngene-“Next generation sequencing technologies” and Dr. R. Raghavendra Rao,Former Director Botanical survey of India. The internal resource persons from the Dept of Life Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) included Dr Suma S, Dr Biljo V Joseph, Dr Paari K A and Dr Praveen. The two day programme was very informative and lively. The faculty had a lot of interaction with experts from diverse domains of Life Sciences which has helped them to get updated in these areas.
